Someone can become sadistic through a combination of genetic, environmental, and psychological factors. For example, a person may have a genetic predisposition towards aggression or lack of empathy, which can be exacerbated by a traumatic or abusive upbringing. Additionally, exposure to violent or abusive behavior, as well as a lack of healthy coping mechanisms for stress or anger, can contribute to the development of sadistic tendencies. It is important to note that not everyone with these risk factors will become sadistic, and seeking professional help and support can be crucial in addressing and managing these tendencies. **
